About this font
WenYuan Fonts is takushun-wu's family aimed squarely at Simplified-Chinese typesetting, shipping a sans, a serif and a rounded variant through the Source Han lineage and tuned for both design tools and TeX workflows. Simplified glyph details are reconstructed and corrected, file organisation is kept stable across LaTeX and mainstream software, and the repo ships detailed Chinese docs, simplification-difference notes and changelogs. The sans is a dependable multi-weight workhorse, the serif brings classic Ming readability for long copy, and the rounded cut softens the whole feel. Variable axes ship alongside static weights, with complete simplified coverage and refined CJK-Latin spacing. Licence and commercial boundaries
Licence：SIL Open Font License 1.1
The dominant permissive licence for open fonts: free commercial use, modification, embedding and redistribution. Its core duties are that derivatives stay under OFL without the Reserved Font Name, the licence text travels with the files, and the fonts themselves are never sold standalone. Works typeset with them belong wholly to you.
SIL OFL 1.1. Free for all common commercial uses; embeddable, modifiable, redistributable. Derivatives must stay OFL with a new name; files are never sold standalone.
Hard restrictions
- Derivatives must stay OFL with new reserved-name handling.
- No standalone sale of the font files.
- Use static weights in older software that lacks variable-font support.
