ZCOOL Gaoduan Hei

The first of ZCOOL's charity font series, Gaoduan Hei was crowd-designed in 2015 by Liu Bingke's studio and released free for all uses. Its shapes are a rounded-corner modern grotesque: even stroke weight, soft junctions, squarish bodies and generous counters that survive small sizes, with diagonal strokes geometricised for a clean, friendly, lightly techy character. Built on the 6,763 GB2312 characters plus Latin and figures, the single weight keeps ink density balanced across dense and sparse glyphs - a discipline rare in charity fonts. The name ('high-end Hei') is affectionately ironic; the type itself is humble and hardworking on anything from community posters to product pages.

Use it where warmth beats authority: short headings, article covers, community posters, promo badges, empty-state captions, event signage. One weight only, so keep it to two- or three-line titles rather than body copy; pair with Source Han Sans (body in Han Sans, headings in Gaoduan Hei) for hierarchy.
