The open-source 'Zhuque Fangsong' is built by Xuanji (TrionesType) for print and publishing. It keeps fangsong's sharp, sinewy turns on a song-type skeleton - taller and more forceful than news book-songs - with six weights and a variable build, holding up in small body text, official documents, classical layouts and subtitles. Covers Simplified, Traditional and GB18030 rare glyphs: a rare complete open replacement for commercial fangsong. Its variable axis scales the fangsong temperament: lighter weights stay refined, heavier weights reveal the bones - one family that holds up at small body sizes and stands tall as display type. With Simplified/Traditional plus GB18030 rare-glyph coverage it backs demanding scenarios like classics and official documents.

Official documents, book manuscripts, classical research, subtitles, exhibition copy. Its thin strokes ask for 14 px+ body text with 1.6+ line-height; for headings take weights 600+ for the bones. For documents set body at 14-16px with 1.65+ line-height and headings at 600-900; a Source Han Serif body with Zhuque for labels and notes works beautifully.

Its core duties are that derivatives stay under OFL without the Reserved Font Name, the licence text travels with the files, and the fonts themselves are never sold standalone. Works typeset with them belong wholly to you.
