MiSans debuted with MIUI 13 in late 2021, custom-built by Hanyi for Xiaomi and declared free for commercial use the day it shipped. It carries the heaviest weight family among Chinese system fonts: ten weights from Thin to Heavy plus a variable binary, nearly 30,000 glyphs and fifteen OpenType features. The 2023 MiSans Global family, co-produced with Monotype and Hanyi, spans over twenty scripts and 600-plus languages, while MiSans L3 adds the full 87,000-character GB18030-2022 level-3 set for rare names. Designwise it is flatter and leaner than its predecessor - crisp stroke cuts, reduced structure, tabular figures - engineered to shrink reading fatigue on phones, tablets, cars and watches alike.

Good fit: app and web UI, system-level design specs, device and car displays, data-heavy tables (tabular figures help), products covering Tibetan, Arabic or Devanagari scripts, and registry systems where citizens' rare-name characters must render (use L3). Picks: Regular/Medium body, Semibold/Bold headings, or slide the variable axis freely; hairline weights at large sizes make energetic brand posters. Downloads sit on Xiaomi's HyperOS font page without login; embedding in a shipped app requires noting MiSans usage, while advertising, packaging, trademarks and publishing are free under the same grant.
