About this font
Officially Source Han SC delivered for the web by Google Fonts: same glyphs, same OFL, but built for browsers - automatic unicode-range subsetting and variable endpoints on Google's CDN, so you mount 'Source Han' on a page without cutting a subset yourself. That makes it the specimen source for most Chinese entries on this site too. For desktop design, fetch the full releases from GitHub/Adobe.
Engineering note: the Google Fonts subset system (unicode-range sharding) keeps first paint at tens of KB - the reason CJK works on the web at all. Compliance: linking to the CDN needs no licence file on your site; self-hosting or bundling into an app does - ship OFL.txt alongside.

Every Chinese web-typography scenario. Picks: the official <link>/@import snippet; 400 body, 500-700 emphasis; preload the critical unicode-range.

Licence and commercial boundaries
Licence：SIL Open Font License 1.1
The dominant permissive licence for open fonts: free commercial use, modification, embedding and redistribution. Its core duties are that derivatives stay under OFL without the Reserved Font Name, the licence text travels with the files, and the fonts themselves are never sold standalone. Works typeset with them belong wholly to you.
SIL OFL 1.1; when served through Google Fonts, their Terms of Use govern the web delivery itself - negligible overhead for ordinary sites and commercial pages.
