About this font
Near-perfect geometric circles - single-storey a and g, round O, open e - make Poppins the shorthand for young, flat, friendly. Drawn at Indian Type Foundry with Devanagari's roundness in its DNA, fourteen weights (variable included) cover thin-to-black posters, UI and social templates, ruling Southeast Asian and MENA digital markets. The cost is reduced letter distinction: long paragraphs tire, so keep it to short labels and heads, and mind l vs I shapes.
Poppins' extreme roundness was tuned to sit beside Devanagari - hence its dominance on India-facing products. Watch the geometric punctuation (cool for English quotes) and note ExtraBold and Black barely differ: one black is enough.
Data caveat: overshoots on O/C/G read taller than neighbours in table headers - set Medium with 0.5 em letter-spacing for long grids. Its geometric figures are a countdown asset (900 on a flat block); for CN mixes, MiSans is the steadiest partner since both expose tabular figures.
Where it works best
Youth brands and events, social cards, app onboarding, landing-page heads. Picks: Medium for UI text, Bold for heads, none for body.

Licence and commercial boundaries

The dominant permissive licence for open fonts: free commercial use, modification, embedding and redistribution. Its core duties are that derivatives stay under OFL without the Reserved Font Name, the licence text travels with the files, and the fonts themselves are never sold standalone. Works typeset with them belong wholly to you.
